On this day in 1800, Vienna premiered Beethoven’s First Symphony. Ludwig van Beethoven is pianist at the debut performance of his First Symphony at the Burgtheater in Vienna, Austria. The 30-year-old composer also plays works by his friend Joseph Haydn and the late Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.
