On this day in History 3/5

On this day in 1946 Winston Churchill gives a speech that warns the West of the ‘Iron Curtain’. In a speech delivered at Westminster College in Fulton, MO, the former British Prime Minister decries the Soviet Union’s growing militaristic dominance of Europe and raises the specter of an “iron curtain” descending across the continent. The phrase will immediately become shorthand for Cold War divisions.
